Denote by the diameter '' D'' shown in the sketch
One Lenght One lenght of the chain is 25 or 27.5 mtrs between the farther point and of the inner side of the end link and that of the opposite end link. May be also including the joining shackle and kenter shackle.
Nos. of Link  The total number of links for each lenght is odd except where it includes a swivel
 Shape & Size of link , shackle, etc The shape of each link, shackle and swivel must be determined in proprotion to the size as shown in the sktches . They must be unitform in shape , and those next to each other must fit properly and move freely
